Prevailing wage calculator

Base + fringe, the correct overtime math, and weekly gross

This calculator turns a wage-determination line - base rate plus fringe - into the total required hourly rate, the overtime rate, and weekly gross pay. The overtime rule it applies: hours over 40 are paid at 1.5× the base rate only; the fringe amount stays at straight time (Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, 29 CFR §5.32).

Total hourly: $52.50 · Overtime hourly: $71.50

Worked example

Say the determination line for your classification reads $38.00 base and $14.50 fringes, and a worker puts in 45 hours in a week:

The fringe portion may be delivered as bona fide benefits instead of cash; whether your benefits cover it is exactly what the fringe-benefit calculator checks. Rates themselves come from your wage determination.
